National Girls & Women in Sports Day Cards
Annual U.S. observance first established in 1987 to recognize and celebrate the achievements of girls and women in sports. Held on the first Wednesday in February, the day highlights the benefits of participation in sports β including health, leadership, confidence, and teamwork β and raises awareness of ongoing disparities in access, funding, media coverage, and opportunity. Events typically include community clinics, school activities, award celebrations, and advocacy efforts that honor progress made since Title IX and encourage continued work toward equity in athletics.
